What’s the difference between Quartz, Quartzite, and Ceramic?
Quartz is an engineered stone that is non-porous, durable, and easy to maintain, available in selected shades and patterns, and typically supplied in 2 cm thickness. Quartzite is a natural stone, exceptionally strong and heat-resistant, with unique natural patterns, though it requires occasional polishing to preserve its appearance, and is available in both 2 cm and 3 cm thicknesses. Ceramic is a man-made surface, ultra-resistant to heat, scratches, and stains, available in 1.2 cm and 2 cm thicknesses, making it an excellent choice for modern kitchens. What does a waterfall kitchen countertop mean?
A kitchen waterfall is when the countertop material continues down the sides of an island or cabinet, creating a seamless flow from the surface to the floor. This effect is achieved by cutting and joining the stone at precise 45-degree angles, so the patterns or veining align beautifully for a continuous look. Do you offer 45-degree mitred joints for thicker-looking countertops?
Yes, we can create 45-degree mitred joints, which allow two pieces of stone to be joined seamlessly at an angle. This technique is often used to achieve the look of a thicker, continuous countertop edge, especially on islands or waterfall designs. It requires precise cutting and finishing, and may add to the overall cost of the project. What cleaning products are safe to use?
For quartz, mild soap and warm water with a soft cloth are recommended, avoiding bleach, strong chemicals, vinegar, or abrasive pads. Quartzite, being a natural stone, should be cleaned with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or mild soap and water, while acidic or harsh cleaners such as vinegar should be avoided and resealing carried out as advised. Ceramic surfaces are very low-maintenance and can usually be cleaned with warm water and mild detergent, and even a little vinegar is safe if needed, though abrasive pads should still be avoided to preserve the finish. How long does the process take from measurement to installation?
On average, the process takes 2 to 4 weeks from the time we complete the measurements to the final installation. The exact timeline depends on the material chosen, the complexity of the design, and our current production schedule. We always provide an estimated timeframe when confirming your order. Can I visit your workshop or showroom to see the materials?
Yes, you are welcome to visit our workshop and showroom during our opening hours — Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:30, and Saturday from 9:00 to 12:30. No appointment is required; however, if you would like a dedicated consultation, we can arrange a meeting if you contact us in advance. Can you install pop-up plug sockets on the kitchen-top or island ?
Yes, we can prepare the required cut-outs for pop-up plug sockets. There are different types available depending on your kitchen layout and style, and they come at an additional cost to the worktop installation. Can the stone patterns be matched across joints for a seamless look?
Yes, we carefully align the veining and patterns during cutting to create a continuous look. While a perfect match isn’t always possible due to the uniqueness of each slab, we always work to achieve the best flow. What is the difference between limestone and travertine?
Limestone has a smooth, compact surface with no natural holes, making it strong and uniform. Travertine naturally forms with small holes and textures that give it character and charm, which can be left open for a rustic look or filled for a smoother finish. Both are durable choices when properly maintained.
